Tri: Faundeen (they/them)

For 8 years, I suffered from chronic pain after being rear-ended while driving my scooter. After a year passed with little improvement, the doctors couldn't find anything "wrong" with me (i.e nothing was broken), so they diagnosed me with fibromyalgia. The prescriptions I tried didn't really help without completely knocking me out, so I became desperate to find a cure, even though they told me there was no such thing.

My priority in life became health and wellness, and I researched and experimented with a lot of different doctors, therapies, nutritional protocols, types of exercise, and drastic lifestyle changes to see if anything could make me feel better. After years passed without significant changes, I felt completely helpless and terrified that I was going to live the rest of my life suffering from constant pain. Eventually my path led me to start receiving, and then studying Craniosacral and Polarity Therapy, and that's when I I stopped having chronic pain entirely.

I discovered my life's passion in studying health and personal development, and it has become my mission to research and integrate diverse therapeutic perspectives to find real answers to the questions we have about how our bodies and minds really work. I believe that we can overcome trauma and pain to live more expansive lives.

In my opinion, holistic health is about understanding that medicine can come in all different forms. It is about each individual finding the medicine that works for them, whether it is allopathic, naturopathic, or shamanic to name just a few. Every body is different. I fully encourage people to explore and discover what works for them.

My priority is to empower my clients to explore and discover what works for them, be present and supportive, and create a safe, non-judgmental space for them to process, so they can be expressed as their optimal selves, moving freely through their lives without emotional and physical tensions to hold them back.

background & Training

I am a Korean adoptee, who came to the US at the age of 6. I had a strong liberal arts education, and was pre-med in college. Though I was capable academically, when it came down to it, realized that there were many things I did not agree with in the medical institution, so I took a pause from academia. When I returned to college, I graduated with a BA in Art and a Minor in Business (Cum Laude Honors College: University of Texas at San Antonio). I'm proud I went back to complete my degree and enjoyed my experience greatly. However, I have since learned that traditional academia is not the only way to receive a valuable education.

I have been studying and assisting Integrative Craniosacral Unwinding and Polarity Therapy with Gary Strauss at IPSB at Life Energy Institute consistently since 2016. I'm currently in training to become a Certified Polarity Educator, and still actively taking advanced trainings and courses in holistic health and personal development and somatic trauma resolution. As of November 2021, I have over 2000 classroom hours combined study and teacher assisting hours in massage, bodywork, and energy medicine.
