CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY

craniosacral system & cerebrospinal fluid

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle touch therapy used to balance the craniosacral system: the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord, from the cranium down to the sacrum and coccyx (tailbone). CST is helpful in releasing restrictions in the craniosacral system to improve the functioning of the sensory, motor, and nervous systems as well as the fascia throughout the body.

CranioSacral Therapy is non-invasive, and uses deep listening and palpation skills to unwind the connective tissues throughout the body, where the cellular memory resides. Because it is such a gentle treatment, it is useful for people of all ages, from babies and children to the elderly. CST is useful in addressing issues such as:

INJURIES - HEADACHES & MIGRAINES - TMJ - PTSD - STRESS - CHILDHOOD DISORDERS - CHRONIC PAIN

An important concept in CranioSacral work is the midline > think the spine > which includes the spinal cord, cerebrospinal fluid, & dura.

All living beings have a midline, and the midline is where cell divides.

The cerebrospinal fluid has a fluid rhythm similar to the respiratory rhythm, it expands and contracts as the fluid moves through the brain and up/down the spine, you can feel this CranioSacral rhythm in the entire body. We can discover areas of injury by listening deeply and feeling for where the CranioSacral rhythm is weak. Restoring the CS rhythm brings healing resource back to the entire body.
